BBQ at Rock the Locks 2015… a great day

Chef-Don-getting-ready

Another fabulous Rock the Locks Day for Buckhorn and local area. Once again, the parish provided popular BBQ fare for the enjoyment of those who strolled between the many stands that were dotted along Lakehurst Road. There were numerous exhibits, local crafts and home-made goodies plus music at several locations.

From 11 am until late afternoon, a steady flow of visitors headed to the BBQ where our own Chef Donnie Roberts worked his BBQ magic. Thanks to Peggy and Donnie plus Eunice and Jim Blakeley for their behind-the-scene organizing. And thanks to all who helped out on the day. Nancy Fairweather, one of the Buckhorn Community Centre (BCC) Rock the Locks planners and parishioner, remarked, “This has been the largest turn-out for Rock the Locks since it began a few years ago. And the weather was absolutely fantastic.”

Congratulations to the BCC and Chamber for all their planning work that made the day a great success and a fun experience for all who visited. And special thanks to Nick and his able young assistants for their careful management of the BBQ ticket sales. It was all in all a great day.
