Parish supports PRHC

amidst pandemic

As the impact of the Coronavirus was first felt throughout Ontario in late March, the people of St Matthew-St Aidan contributed five hundred dollars to Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) to assist in their preparation for an expected increase in patient load at the facility. Caring for those in need is an important component in the mission of the parish. Putting that caring into action has been a priority of the parish for many years. The parish intends to maintain its focus on outreach to respond to needs in the local community, in Peterborough County and beyond.

Lesley Heighway, President and CEO of PRHC, sent a kind note of thanks and appreciation to the people of St Matthew-St Aidan.

Since April, the road-side sign at the church indicates the deep gratitude of the people of the parish for the care being provided by all health-care workers. It also recognizes all the 'unsung heroes' who continue to provide essential services in the community in spite of the restraints of COVID-19. Thank you to every one of you. God bless you!

We are so blessed to have this wonderful facility in our community, and blessed to be in a position to be of some help to them during this critical time.
    A gracious letter of thanks.

Indeed! And … I believe firmly that our commitment to the service of others is a critical element in the health of our parish and of our parish life.
